Da Wood, born 1990, is a Lebanese musician and sound designer whose
passion for music began at a very young age.
He developed a keen interest for sound during his early years, and by the age
of 12, he had already taken piano lessons, guitar lessons and acquired his
first drum set.

During his teenage years. Rock and Metal music were a major influence and
in 2006, he worked as a session drummer for local bands, which helped him
integrate into the Lebanese Metal scene.
Shortly after, he formed his own
Thrash Metal band with two of his friends, and they recorded their first and
only album. “Disciples of hell”

In 2009, a meeting with two other percussionists at a local bar birthed the melodic
percussion project, Soukara. With Soukara, Da Wood experimented with different percussive and electronic instruments.

His interest in music continued to develop and he was becoming increasingly
fascinated with electronic music, and that introduced him to the world of analog and digital synthesizers.

Da Wood soon became a prominent name in the Lebanese music scene, and he
began curating and hosting musical events. He began his electronic journey as a DJ and producer in Beirut and went on to play at events in Cyprus, Turkey, Georgia , India , Sri Lanka and Other countries.
He also gained wide experience in managing events and sound engineering,
and his career has been taking ever developing forms in new places since.

In 2017, after a few years of work and experience , Da Wood Partnered With "Mouka" and Took Over The family's old Wood workshop to build a Professional Sound recording Studio In Beirut/Lebanon.

Today, Da Wood works in sound design and music composition for Film productions.
He has combined both his musical knowledge and his film school education to design sounds and experiment with Extremely versatile genres.

Chasing escapes Is an activity some of us have mastered since the early years of their lives, wether to escape something , or to get out of the comfort zone and be on the hunt for Other ways of life!

On this album I have tried to sum up my influences in a new approach to Electronic Music Production.
Distorted Kicks , Growling , Bass Sounds Varying From Techno, Drum N bass all the way to Hi-Tek Or Psycore!

In Other Words “chasing escapes” (The Music) was for a little while my way of escaping reality and creating a unique sound atmosphere that combines previous experiences in a new context.
